Energy Management

ACME offers energy audits to pinpoint inefficiencies within your HVAC system. We highlight areas which can benefit from energy saving enhancements. As controls engineers, we understand how HVAC plants operate individually and in unison with each other. We know how different components interact and the best methods for eliminating waste and thereby reducing a system’s energy consumption.

With ever increasing pressure to reduce Carbon emissions and to minimise operating costs, now is the time to respond. By taking complete control of your HVAC system, energy consumption can be monitored and managed effectively.

Energy Audit

Our comprehensive energy audits include a thorough assessment of the controls software on site. Set points and time schedules will be modified during the visit where possible in order to provide instant energy savings. We will also highlight any mechanical issues with the HVAC plant that may require attention in order to improve operating efficiencies.

ACME Group Joins Forces with Matrix

We are pleased to announce that the Matrix Group holding company, Green Sky Energy, has acquired the ACME Group of Companies.

For those that know ACME they will be aware the company was founded in 1991 by a team that had previously held senior management positions with the Swiss controls company Staefa Controls (now part of Siemens Building Technologies).

ACME has a leading market position within the Building Energy & BMS controls services sector and it has enjoyed controlled growth since its initial conception and now employs over 60 staff from a head office at Knaphill, Woking and a regional office in Olveston, Bristol. ACME believes that it is one of the most technical and professionally competent businesses within the UK Energy Management & BMS controls market.

ACME's existing management team and original shareholders will be staying with the business and will continue to trade under the ACME name.

Ian Kelly, Chief Executive of Matrix Group, commented "I am delighted to welcome the ACME business and people into the team. This represents a key step forward in our plans to consolidate our position as the UK’s leading energy management company. The ACME management team have over 100 years of experience between them and we are pleased to have such high calibre individuals join the group, together with the team they have nurtured and developed over many years."

"This deal brings to a close an extremely successful year for Matrix in which we have seen organic revenue growth of 26% and recruited 76 people. The addition of ACME takes our employee count to 310 compared with 106 in March 2010. It takes the combined group turnover to over £55m and further strengthens the key markets of London and the South East of England."

"We expect 2012 to be another good year for growth on the back of major blue chip brand energy services contract wins, which include a large international win stretching across the Globe."

Sam Saunders, one of the founders of ACME, added "We are delighted to have joined forces with the UK’s leading energy management business. The integrity of the Matrix team and their commitment to delivering the highest standards of customer service are very consistent with the approach which has made ACME so successful. The combination of the businesses provides security to all our staff and customers that the business can continue to develop and we are particularly excited at the opportunities created by access to Matrix’s Energy Management Centre"
