Energy Surveys
The purpose of the survey is to highlight any potential savings available and to give a general overview of its operation. This survey will be specific to the main plant controls and associated HVAC equipment which accounts for approximately 40% of a building’s energy expenditure.

Our typical energy audits include:
- A general summary of the site including a list of all the plant and control equipment currently installed.
- Developing energy consumption profiles by making use of any data logs or utility bills that may be available.
- Recommendations for further metering and monitoring systems to pinpoint the source of wasteful processes.
- An assessment of the time schedules which will include comparing current plant running times to the actual requirements of occupants. During our visit we propose to adjust time schedules to minimise operating hours.
- Further to this we will assess the controls strategy for all equipment on site, from checking and modifying set-points to a more in-depth analysis of control loops, proportional bands and optimiser settings for the purpose of reducing energy consumption.
- Various pumps/fan motors will be assessed for their potential to be driven by a variable speed drive. Details of these motors will be collated so that we can provide a cost and estimated payback for installing inverters on such motors.
- A full report of our findings along with any potential savings that could be made will be listed at the back of the report. Each solution will be listed in order of priority to highlight any ‘quick wins’ and can also be used as part of a long-term energy reduction plan.
- Finally we will provide you with details of any available grants or schemes that could be used to provide you with further cost savings when works are undertaken.
Engineers
![]()
All of our engineers are BESCA accredited. Under this
competent person scheme, we are able to certify our own work to show full
compliance with Part L of the building regulations. We are exempt from lodging ‘Full Plans’ or a ‘Building Notice’ with the Local
Authority Building Control (LABC) under new building regulations. This cost saving is passed onto our customers and means that there
is no need for third parties to visit your site. As we do not need to wait for approval from the LABC before starting work or once
our works have been completed, we can save our customers time and hassle. Finally, once our works are completed, we are authorised
to issue the building owner with a compliance certificate.
Bureau
Ability to ‘dial-in’ to Trend, Siemens and Delta sites and perform diagnostics during normal working hours.
