ACME Controls Ltd is the projects arm of the Acme Group of Companies.

Acme Controls Ltd is able to undertake all types of projects works associated with the HVAC industry due to the high levels of knowledge and experience of our “in house” projects team. The team is made up from very experienced and committed individuals who have in excess of 100 years cumulative controls knowledge of the HVAC field. This enables the team to provide a high level of service and commitment to clients, and the company's 'top down' ethos ensures that the value of the works is no barrier to the level of service provided, with monetary values of works ranging from several hundred pounds to a million pounds and above.

Acme Controls Ltd can provide a complete controls solution from design, installation and commissioning through to handover, we can then provide a further first class service (via our service arm) to ensure the controls are serviced and maintained to ensure optimum operating efficiency.

A large proportion of our current project works has been drawn from our existing service client base and we are conscious of the need to provide a high level of service to our customers in order to ensure their experience with Acme continues to be a pleasurable one. For those clients who are not already a service client then it is our intention to ensure they experience high levels of customer satisfaction and having used Acme once they continue to do so.

Each client has a single point of contact for their project works which is notified to them following order placement. Our in house systems and procedures ensure that in the event that the dedicated point of contact cannot be reached for what ever reason then another member of the team is always available in the office to assist and deal with the client’s requirement.

Our projects are run in accordance with our in house procedures and the BSI Quality Assurance scheme (ISO9001). This ensures that all works are run to the same exact standards and that only those people with the required skill sets are used. Where appropriate specialist sub-contractors are used to carryout certain elements of works. These sub-contractors are vetted to ensure they qualify and meet with the requirements of our Quality Assurance System and this ensures that they provide the highest possible service when representing Acme Controls Ltd.

The services we can offer our customer base include the following: -

System Integration

Building management systems have developed significantly in recent years. However in the early years services were kept separate from one another. The fire company would monitor the fire system and the air conditioning engineers would maintain the air conditioning. Still today, this involves using several different specialists to monitor and maintain the different systems within a building. Each system will often make use of its own controls hardware, network cabling, power cabling, user displays and alarm facilities, not to mention the different maintenance routines, training methodologies and purchasing routes. Considering the above, it becomes apparent that the building would be more efficient and less costly to operate if all of these systems could make use of a single data connection point for the purpose of monitoring and control.

Traditionally different types of systems were kept independent of one another, each manufacturer having its own products which would communicate using their own unique protocol. In essence a protocol is like a language, if one device does not ‘speak’ the language of another, the devices cannot communicate. This closed protocol approach is now a thing of the past as integration of systems has become widely recognised as a major step towards a truly intelligent building. Those BMS manufacturers who have not adopted this approach have been left behind as their products are rarely used in new build projects as ‘open protocols’ have almost become mandatory in design specifications - even for upgrade and retrofit projects. The most common of these protocols are Lon Works and BACnet. Acme Controls Ltd has much experience in these areas and it enables us to identify our customer’s needs and requirements and tailor a controls solution to meet with their requirements and often exceeds expectation.

Energy Surveys

The purpose of the survey is to highlight any potential savings available and to give a general overview of its operation. This survey will be specific to the main plant controls and associated HVAC equipment which accounts for approximately 40% of a building’s energy expenditure.
